Bonjour,
Bon j'ai pas mal lue sur le sujet, je me cherche un set-up pour aller chercher le beau son d'un intake a l'air libre et voici mes conclusion.
- Le piping SNABB ne changerais rien ( pas grand chose ) pour le son ( pas la peine 400$ avec l'Installation ), c'est plus utile pour les set-up performance chippé, remplacement de eom brisé et etc. Mais juste pour le son sur un set-up 100% stock ...
Donc avec l'air intake pipe d'origine je changerais seulement le filtre + airbox ... ou stock airbox sans le top ...
L'option la plus simple mais a 282$ juste pour un beau son est sans doute le kit dry filter de Eurosport
Mais je me retrouve a payé 200$ pour la airbox ouverte qui a lair un peu cheap, qui est assez laide et a pas l'air de vraiment heatshield quoi que ce soit avec son pas de rubber dans le top et des ouvertures partout. La airbox des autres modèles au même prix ont lair tellement mieux fait c'est fous.

Donc je pourrais opté juste pour le cone Mototec Universal Cone Air Filter - Dry Base Filter sans la boite, je sais pas si c'est le 3 ou le 2.75 pouce qui fit sur l'air intake stock du 2.5T mais il est environ 95$.
Ensuite soit y aller pour la boite stock sans le couvercle, faudrait voir si le cone fit la .... et la il y aurait vraiment 0 heatshield avec l'air du moteur ...

Sinon je trouve pour 200$ ou moins un meilleur kit de box que celui de eurosport tuning.

PS : j'ai lue plein de topic comme quoi les aftermarket cone et open box causait des troubles dans certains ordi de la bagnole.

Pretty blue filter!
An open air filter box will not be able to cause vacuum (negative boost), but neither will it be able to achieve negative vacuum (positive boost) at speed from forward-facing CAIs ("ram air" effect). I believe the stock box withOUT any CAI does cause a pressure drop that's not good for making max power. But with CAI...? (The cynic in me, not having seen any before/after dyno or other performance measurement charts, suspects that the open box is for letting more noise escape the engine closer to the driveR, to better fool those whose ears are hooked up to their butt dynos into perceiving power gains. To be fair, the web page does mention a power increase, but without anywhere near enough relevant information to be of use: "We have see [sic] a 6-8hp increase from dyno testing". Besides, if they really have such dyno results, why can't we see them (along with before/after details, and also 1/4 mile results)? Why weren't they proudly and prominently displayed...? ...something about "Performance gains vary from vehicle to vehicle" ... so please show us lots of dyno results, so we can gauge for ourselves what, if anything beyond increased noise, this product might do for each of us.)
...but back to that pretty blue filter that caught my eye:
I clicked on http://www.eurosporttuning.ca/mm5/me...Code=VL-S60-en to learn more about the offering. But all I found of interest to me was that buying the Mototec Air Intake System w/o the pretty blue filter means a $69 price reduction. Hmmmmm.... yeah, it's pretty, and maybe they sell for around $69, but I'd really still like to know at least a little more about it... Oh, it says a little more: "Air Filter - The most important component of any air intake system is the air filter. The filter used is manufactured in France by industry leader [sic] which produces filters for other tuners in Europe such as Carlsson & AC Schnitzer. The result is greater airflow and maximum filtration compared to other filters on the market." But that STILL doesn't tell me much about the filter itself. The material it's made of. How effective it is? What size particles does it let pass? Is it cleanable? (If this cylindrical filter is what they refer to as a "cone" filter, then the web page indicates that it is, but, then, how much is the "kit"?) Is it run wet/oiled, or dry? Service life? etc.
What a shame that these are not(?) available separately. 'Cuz I scrutinized the entire web page, and even though there were multiple references to the pretty blue filter, I found no links to a page describing it, much less offering it for sale... At the top of the "Mototec Air Intake System" web page it does say "S60R/V70R", but that's not a link, either.
Oh, well, maybe it's just a new product's excitedly-thrown-together web page... So I clicked on the VOLVO link at the top of the page, thinking maybe I could find it via the site's main navigation.
Hmmmmmm...!!!???!!!? 19 different lines of Volvo vehicles listed under "Volvo Performance", but NO P2 Rs !!!!! (S60 says 2001-2007 !!!???, V70 is listed with XC70 !!!???)
I wanted to gain information about that pretty blue filter, but all I got for my time and trouble was a negative impression of EuroSport Tuning('s web site). I've never dealt with EuroSport Tuning. Maybe, if they eveR get theiR (web site) act togetheR, I might actually consider possibly doing so once again someday. But for right now:
